18. Monografica 2003
09. March

Like always the Spanish „National“ took place beginning March north of Madrid in Navacerrada, a “Must” show for all which would like to call once a Spanish champion it own – at least a “Excellent” is here must, not so easy with this quantity of Newfies and – this year – the quality. For this championship you need 4 CAC under 3 different judges, one of these CAC must be achieved on one of the annual specialities (Madrid or another place with “Punto obligatory”) – a “Excellent” on the yearly Monografica correspond in this case to a CAC – a really hard venture!

In this year the majority of the exhibitors arrived already the day before, it was due also the choice of the new club executive committee.

54 dogs were inscribed, some from Portugal, France and Italy. Like always a top class judge was invited. After the judges of the years before Mrs. Gothen from Denmark and Manlio Massa from Italy this mark was a German judge at the row, Mrs. Marion Pfordt, some “old hares” surely know her from the WDS in Budapest/Hungary, from several international shows and now as 1st Chairman of the other German Newfoundland Club, the VND. She was probably faced with a not simple task and had now her “agony of choice”, since the quality of the Spanish Newfoundlands improved in the last years substantially. By excellent imports from Italy, France and the USA and intelligent mating the Spanish Newfoundland ( not at all a “Spanish” breed) can measure easily with his comrades from Central Europe.

Viva Espana and all much success
